Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, has said that his government was moving forward to provide 15 lakh jobs to the youths in the next three years.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 67th birth anniversary celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his government would launch a new scheme called ‘Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu’ and provide 15 lakh jobs under the scheme. The PCC Chief, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana, said that the ruling party would encourage the youths between 25 and 40 years would be given an opportunity in the nominated posts depending upon their strength. He called upon the leaders who left the Congress party to come back into the party fold.
Praising services of Rajiv Gandhi, all the speakers said that the present youth have to move forward taking inspiration from the life of the former Prime Minister. They also called upon the AICC general secretary, Mr Rahul Gandhi, to step forward keeping the Prime Minister’s post in mind.
The Chief Minister inaugurated a Photo Exhibition on Rajiv Gandhi’s life in Gandhi Bhavan.
The Deputy Chief Minsiter, Mr Damodar Raja Narasimha, the former chief minister, Mr K Rosaiah, the senior party leaders, Dr K Keshava Rao, Mr V Hanumantha Rao, Mr D Srinivas, Mr M Sathyanarayana Rao and ministers, MPs participated in the programme.
Earlier, the Chief Minister and the PCC Chief, Mr Rosaiah, the Assembly Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, ministers, MLAs, MLCs and MPs paid floral tributes at Rajiv Gandhi statue at Somajiguda.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the introduction of Information Technology in the country goes to late Rajiv Gandhi only. Mr Reddy also distributed prizes to the winners of ‘Rajiv Sadbhavana Run’.
