Telangana Activists Obstruct Film Shooting In Chevella

Hyderabad: The Telangana activists here on Wednesday obstructed the shooting of Allari Naresh-Poornima starrer in Aluru village under Chevella mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The film was being produced by Mr Vijay Prasad and directed by Mr Nageshwar Reddy.

As shooting of the film was in progress in the village, the Telangana activists stormed the spot and obstructed their work. The agitators also destroyed the setting made for the film and set it ablaze. It is learnt that the lead pair Allari Naresh and Poornima were present when the incident occurred. The members of the film unit retreated from the place.

Mr Vijay Prasad said that they had obtained prior permission from the authorities concerned for the film shooting in the village scheduled to take place from February 21 to 24. He said that they had suspended the shooting for a few days on the request of Telangana agitators. When they set everything ready for shooting, the agitators stormed the village and went berserk setting the film set ablaze, he added.

Stating that he did not suspect hand of “big persons” behind the incident, the producer felt that the youths in the agitation might have resorted to vandalism for fun sake. He lamented that he had spent about Rs 10 lakhs for the film setting. (NSS)
