Hyderabad: A delegation of Telugu Desam party Telangana Forum leaders called on the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Monday evening and pleaded with him to use his good offices with the Congress high command to introduce a Bill for formation of Telangana State in Parliament immediately.
Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, the Forum convenor, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, said that they have urged the Chief Minister to ensure that a Bill on Telangana State formation was introduced in Parliament by the UPA government. They also told Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy that the people of the two regions could remain united after bifurcation of the State. The Forum leaders also told the Chief Minister to remain in the history by felicitating introduction of Telangana Bill in Parliament.
Asked about the reaction of the Chief Minister, Dr Nagam smilingly walked away saying “What he would say?”
Dr Nagam said that they also urged the Chief Minister to implement the Girglani Committee Report as well as GO No. 610 to correct the injustices meted out to the Telangana employees. He also said that they told the Chief Minister that 95 Telangana employees were rendered gross injustice as their promotions were stopped.
The TDP leader said that they have extended total support to the Tuesday’s Rail Roko programme. He also said that the Telangana TDP activists would also actively participate in the Rail Roko.
Another Telangana TDP leader, Mr Erraballi Dayakar Rao has warned that they would not tolerate if the State government initiated any action against the Telangana employees who were participating in the non-cooperation movement. (NSS)
