Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, today extended upper age concession of five years to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for direct recruitment over and above the age limit prescribed in State and Subordinate Service Rules / Special Rules for a further period of five years from May 31.
The Chief Minister took this decision with an objective to uplift the disadvantaged persons of the society and providing equal opportunities to all. The State government is providing age concession in direct recruitment to Public Service in favour of the SCs/STs candidates. The upper age limit is raised by five years to the candidates belonging to SC/ST category from time to time to ensure their proper representation in services.
The lower age limit of 18 years and upper age limit of 33 years have been prescribed for direct recruitment. Certain age concessions were allowed for the protected groups of the society as follows: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC 33+5 years, Physically Handicapped persons 33+10 years, the ceiling of the upper age limit, including all concessions to candidates belonging to SC/ST 45 years and the ceiling of the upper age limit including all concessions to candidates belonging to BC 40 years.
