Hyderabad: The former President Bharat Ratna, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, has said that the Web services have to be transformed in such a manner that they would aid efforts at social transformation besides supplementing the requirements of the corporate sector.
Dr Kalam was the chief guest on the third day of the World Wide Web summit being held here, which was being attended by some 700 web researchers from across 50 countries around the globe.
Dr Kalam expressed concern at the malicious path being treaded by the web services and also mentioned about the imminent danger of hackers to the government web sites. The web services have to be designed keeping in view the mobile phones, he said and suggested that the 3G, 2G and 4G services have to be brought into mother tongues.
Later, he unveiled the “Mission Translate System”, a language changing website. (NSS)
