Cameron White admits that the Deccan Chargers will have to dedicate a fair bit of time to planning on how to combat Virender Sehwag and David Warner.
The opening pair’s lethal hitting will be a worry for a Chargers outfit who have just one win thus far in the competition and White concedes that the team are all too aware of the damage Sehwag and Warner could cause.
“We haven’t had our team meeting yet but I m sure there will be a lot of time spent on planning about those two (Sehwag and Warner),” said the Australian.
“Delhi have a lot of good players and restricting and taking wickets will be key.”
While Deccan have won only one of their first four encounters, White insists that no team can be written off, with the competition so tight.
“Although we have lost three games, we could have won those matches easily. The result could have gone either way,” explained the 27-year-old.
“We have shown that we can win at home now. We have a brand new team and doesn’t matter what the conditions are, I think we have the team.”
“It seems everyone is beating everyone and there is no unbeaten team so far. The tournament is wide open and it is benefit of not starting too well. The top team has two or three wins,” added White.
The right-hander had nothing but praise for his new team-mates, having made the switch from Bangalore to Deccan.
“We have a good all-round team and in (Amit) Mishra and (Pragyan) Ojha we have two of the best Indian spinners and two of the best fast bowlers as well. It doesn’t matter what the conditions are, we have the team,” he said. Cricket365
