Kolkata Knight Riders scored 163/4 against Deccan Chargers in a IPL 2011 game on Monday. This is the highest score in this year’s IPL so far.
Electing to bat first, Kolkata got flying start from openers Jacques Kallis and Manvinder Bisla. However, Bisla failed to consolidate on good start and was dismissed by Amit Mishra for 19 runs.
Kallis was at his best and scored back-to-back fifty. He made valuable 53 off 45 deliveries.
Skipper Gambhir came into bat No.3 and contributed 29 runs. After Gambhir, Manoj Tiwary (30 not out) and Pathan 22 took KKR past 150.
For Deccan Chargers, Amit Mishra claimed two wickets while Steyn and Duminy took one wicket each.
Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and decided to bat against Deccan Chargers here at Eden Gardens on Monday.
KKR have made two changes in the side. Laxmi Ratan Shukla is out and Ryan ten Doeschate is in. Sarabjit Ladda has paved the way for Jaidev Unadkat.
Gambhir said that track is looking good and he wants to put good total on board.
On the other hand, Sanga said that there is no grass on the track and his side needs to bowl well.
