Yuvraj urges Sehwag to take it easy

Pune skipper Yuvraj Singh has encouraged his Indian teammate Virender Sehwag to go lightly when the IPL new boys take on Delhi on Sunday.

Unbeaten Pune will start as favourites when they host the Delhi Daredevils – a team yet to post a victory in this year’s competition. Despite the two sides sitting at opposite ends of the IPL table, Yuvraj has insisted that his team will not be getting complacent due to the Delhi lineup including match-winners like Sehwag in their ranks.

“Sehwag is a great player. You can plan against great players but if they get going they will win the match for you. We will have our plans for him. I hope he takes its easy against us tomorrow,” said Yuvraj.

Of his own teams encouraging start to the competition he added: “Its nice to have two wins in a row. (It is important) not to get complacent. Delhi is a top side and it is important to have plans against them and execute them. We got four quick wickets in the first two games. Its not going to happen everyday. But still we have to make our plans.”

Allrounder Rahul Sharma and South African Graeme Smith were both injured in a collision while fielding in Pune’s last game against Kochi on Wednesday night, but Yuvraj is confident that both players will return for the game against Delhi.

“Both of them are better, we are assessing them currently. We will know tomorrow whether they will play, at present they are looking good.”

Pune also have James Faulkner at their disposal, the young Australian having been drafted in as a replacement for the injured Angelo Mathews.

Yuvraj added of the 20-year old: “(We have) heard he is very talented and doing very well in domestic cricket. That is why after taking opinions from everyone we picked him in our side.” Agencies
