Australia scored 195 runs in 42 overs at the loss of five wickets against India on Thursday.24.

After 20 overs Ponting was batting on 22 while Haddin was playing on 45. Offspinner Ashwin, who took the new ball, trapped Watson in front of the wicket on 25.

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni tossed the coined and his Australian counterpart Ricky Ponting gave the right call and showed no hesitation to bat first on a dry pitch.

Poting said at the toss that 250 would be a compatible total at the wicket as it was expected to slow down after 50 overs.

Dhoni said that the wicket would assist the spinners as the match would progress, adding that Indian players were focusing on how they would perform in the match, instead of thinking about pressure.

After missing out previous matches, India’s explosive opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, made his way back into the side by replacing Yusuf Pathan.
