Graeme Smith wins toss, elects to bat

Dhaka, March 19 (IANS) South African skipper Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to bat in a crucial group B match against Bangladesh here Saturday.

Bangladesh, who must win this match to move into the quarter final, made one change, bringing in Naeem Islam for Suhrawadi Shuvo.

South Africa, already through to the last eight, made three changes. They rested pacers Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel and included Wayne Parnell and Lonwabo Tsotsobe. Leg spinner Imran Tahir, now fit, came in for Collin Ingram.


South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), Hashim Amla, Johan Botha, Jean-Paul Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, Jacques Kallis, Wayne Parnell, Robin Peterson, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Morne van Wyk (wicket-keeper).

Bangladesh: Shakib-al-Hassan (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Abdur Razzak, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Rubel Hossain, Shahriar Nafees and Shafiul Islam.

Third umpire: Rod Tucker

Fourth umpire: Enamul Hoque-Moni
