Mumbai: Hyderabadi girl Niraja Reddy who gave the coin for the toss in the World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka in the Wankhede stadium, has said what the Sri Lankan captain Sangakkara said was not audible to even her.
It may recalled that Sangakkara has raised some objection to the toss in which India won first. Following the Sri Lankan captain’s objection, strangely the coin was tossed once again. The second toss was won by the Sri Lankan team.
Niraja Reddy has said because of the noise of the audience who applauded soon after the first toss, she could not understand what Sangakkara said objecting to the toss.
However, despite objecting to the toss and winning it in the second attempt, Sangakkara could not take the World Cup back to his country. (NSS)
