Hyderabad: Even as everything was set for the conduct of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for 115 lakhs students all over the country, including 1.10 lakh in the State on Sunday, the authorities concerned effected change in timing and postponed the examination to afternoon.
The examination for the AIEEE Paper I which was scheduled to take place from 9.30 am was put off to 12 noon. Similarly, Paper II examination scheduled to take place from 2 pm was postponed to 4 pm. It is learnt that the authorities were forced to change the timings of the examination due to leakage of Paper I. However, the Examination authorities did not give any explanation for the reasons behind the postponement of the examination by two hours.
FOUR HELD IN KANPUR
Meanwhile, the police, who plunged into investigation into the paper leak have taken four suspects into custody in Kanpur of Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow Task Force superintendent of Police, Mr Vijay Prakash, said that he had received information about the paper leak on Saturday night. He said that when they have faxed the copy of the paper I to the CBNE chairman, the latter confirmed the leak of the paper and that was the reason for the postponement of the examination by two hours, he added.
