Noida, March 13 (IANS) A man was arrested here Sunday for strangulating his 22-year-old daughter to death because she had fallen in love against his wishes, police said.
Karamvir Singh, a resident of Yakutpur, killed her daughter Bhuro in Mangroli village March 1.
Confessing his crime, Karamvir said Bhuro had fallen in love with her cousin Sanjay, 26, who is the son of her mother’s elder sister.
He had left Bhuro with his relatives in Meerut Feb 28, and was returning with her the next day when they had an argument over Sanjay.
He then strangulated her in Mangroli and called two of his nephews Narendra and Dalu to dispose off the body.
The three then buried the corpse in a nearby field. They even dug out her remains on the third day and burnt it.
“After finding the girl missing for a long time, Sanjay informed the Noide Phase II police. Initially, Karamvir tried to fool the police several times by presenting one of his five daughters as Bhuro, but did not succeed. The police is on the lookout for Narendra and Dalu,” Superintendent of Police (City) Anant Deo said.
