Tirupati: In a gory incident, a housewife was butchered by unidentified miscreants in Sivajyothinagar near here and her body parts were kept in a TV box. As foul smell was emanating from the house, the neighbours reported the matter to the police.

Following the information, the police rushed to the spot, broke open the door and found the body parts stuffed in a TV box. Police said that the victim, Sunita of Nellore, who had obtained divorce from her husband was living in Sivajyothinagar alone. She has been eking her livelihood by working as domestic maid in some houses.

Police inquiries revealed that the deceased’s father-in-law used to visit her now and then. The neighbours said that Sunita’s father-in-law came to her room on Friday evening and had heated arguments with her. The police suspect that she might have been hacked to death on Friday night. They also suspect that the victim’s illicit relationship with her father-in-law might have led to the woman’s murder.

The investigating officers are also examining the possibility of her former husband getting her physically liquidated through hired killers.
