Three, including lady doctor, held for duping doctors

Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Central Crime Station on Friday arrested three persons, including a lady doctor, for cheating seven doctors of Rs 35 lakh by promising them that they would ensure Post Graduate seats in medical colleges and jobs in Primary Health Centres.

According to the police, the three arrested have been identified as Pillala Jagveer, Dr Betapudi Sowjanya and Gajula Badrappa.

The police said that the three accused collected Rs 35 lakh from the innocent doctors and shared the amount among themselves to spend the money on purchasing a luxury car and gold jewellery.

The CCS sleuths seized the car from the possession of Pillala Jagveer and about 32 tolas of gold jewellery from the possession and at the instance of Dr Sowjanya.

The seized items are all worth Rs 14 lakh.

The accused persons will be produced before the XII Additional Chief Metropolitan Court Magistrate, the police said.(INN)
