Heroine and hiccups seem synonymous. Er, Madhur Bhandarkar’s flick that is. After dragging her starry feet over ‘Heroine’, expressing dismay at the movie’s striking resemblance to her life and baulking at the intimate scenes demanded of her in MB’s venture, Kareena Kapoor chose to chuck the flick. And a disgruntled Bhandarkar announced that his cherished dream was shelved altogether.
Presently, there’s heartening news on that front. As ‘Heroine’ has now risen from the ashes to stake her claim to illumine screens. Two contenders have been shortlisted for the eponymous role… and in a cinematic twist that defies description… they both happen to be Salman’s ex flames: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.
Says a close source, “UTV and Madhur are both keen to revive ‘Heroine’. The casting of ‘Heroine’ is now a toss up between Aishwarya and Katrina, as Madhur and UTV feel that they are fine actresses, and can do ample justice to the role which requires a lot of style and character. Madhur’s most ambitious film will go on the floors once either of them is finalised for the lead. The decision was taken as the film’s script is extremely hard hitting and such a story is just waiting to be told. The rest of the cast is not going to be too difficult to put together.” Agencies
