Civic authorities and cops stopped AR Rahman’s show in Nagpur. The reason – it was already 10 pm and according to the law, the show could not have gone ahead.
We are informed that there was at least 40,000 people grooving to the music at the venue and they were utterly disappointed as suddenly the lights and sound went off. Despite repeated requests to the authorities to finish the show, they showed AR and team the rule book.
With 30 minutes of music still remaining to be dished out, Rahman took the stage and informed the audience the reason why they have to stop the concert and urged them to travel to Bangalore, the next venue. We hope the authorities would have the same set of laws for shows organised by politicians and bureaucrats. TOI
