Model-turned-actress Lisa Hayden says she’s looking to do more than just glam stuff in Bollywood

I’ve known Tarun since my modelling days. I met him when I first moved to India… so I love to meet him each time he calls me,” said model-turned-actress Lisa Hayden (remember her from ” Aisha?) at a recent fittings session in Delhi, as Tarun Tahiliani checked if the outfit he designed for her fit her well. “I think we need just a few alterations here and there, and you’re good to go,” he told Lisa, as she observed herself in the mirror. She continued nevertheless, “He is one of the first designers I ever worked with, and I’ve been shooting with him ever since.”

In town for a shoot for the designer’s Bridal Couture exposition, the leggy babe sported a side-swept braid and minimal makeup when we clicked her, but still looked beautiful. Talking about her life and work, she said she’s done an item number for the film “Rascals”, wearing a hot pink bikini.

“The song, called ” Shake It Bhaiyya”, actually doesn’t have a desi feel to it. It’s more Pussycat Dolls-meets-Lady Gaga-meets-Madonna,” she specified, adding, “But that doesn’t mean I’ll only be doing item songs or only the glam stuff. I’ve entered Bollywood to prove myself as a versatile actress. So I’m working on my Hindi diction, and brushing up my acting skills too. I’m working hard on deconstructing my glam image. Not that I won’t do any glamorous roles at all in the days to come, it’s just that I want to be known as an actress who’s capable of doing all kinds of roles,” she explained. Also there, getting ready for his shoot, was actor Rahul Khanna, who’s based abroad and seen quite infrequently in Delhi. TOI
