The $2500 necklace that Lindsay Lohan supposedly stole from a jewellery store up is to be auctioned off for charity.
The artiste (improved known for her court appearances these days then her movies) is in front of a offense grand theft charge and a possible prison verdict – if she is found guilty of stealing the jewellery from Kamofie and Co. jewellery store in January.
The news comes just days after the actress in danger to sue store bosses for allegedly striking a $40,000 deal to release CCTV tapes which show Lohan trying the necklace on.
A representative from the Jewellery store told TMZ: “We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity. We invite the public to make suggestions as to the most appropriate charity to receive the benefit of the sale’s proceeds.”
Hmm, suitable charity? Maybe Kleptomaniacs Anonymous should put their hands up for the pay out.
The auction won’t happen right away, as the necklace remains at the L.A. County District Attorney’s office anywhere it will stay as evidence until the case is closed.
Lindsay heads back to court today, and according to TMZ she will most likely not accept the plea bargain which will include jail time.
