Tusshar Kapoor and Amrita Rao come together in Sooraj Barjatya’s Love U Mr Kalakaar, directed by S Manasvi. Although Amrita has worked in a Rajshri film (Vivah), this is the first time with Tusshar for the banner.
The film is all set for release tomorrow and the chemistry between the lead pair is being talked about. Says the actress, “I like Tusshar’s professionalism and his approach to work. It is something that is very admirable about him. Also, he keeps the atmosphere on the sets lively.”
Tusshar grins at the compliment. A perfect mimic, in his free time, he regaled the unit by mimicking director Manasvi and Amrita. Says he, “Amrita is a perfectionist. She seeks to achieve the best in every sphere, be it a scene, a song or a dance… And follows the serious statement with a ‘purrrfect’ Amrita act, that has her grinning as well.”
Considering that in the film, Tusshar plays a kalakaar and she is his muse who makes him stand up in a competitive world and win, the chemistry off-screen reflects beautifully on screen. Says Tusshar, “I identify so much with the character. On a day, if I am home at 12 noon, people wonder why I am not shooting. People don’t realise that we kalakaars don’t do a 9-5 job. And coping with that is not easy. This is reflected so well in the film and in the way my relationship with Amrita is portrayed in Love U Mr Kalakaar.”
Says Sooraj Barjatya, “When Manasvi thought of Amrita, I think I saw the girl she played in Vivah. Here she essays a very different character and she has done full justice to the role of Ritu.”Jeetendra was so touched with the role essayed by his son Tusshar that he sent a huge bouquet to director Manasvi with a note stating, “I am glad such films are being made today.” With a banner like Rajshri, there are sure to be more films of this ilk!
