Being beautiful is not only fun, it pays well. Forbes Magazine has revealed the ten top-earning models for this year.
It’s no surprise that so many teenage girls want to be models, since they live a glamorous life. They also make a lot of money, as shown by this new report from Forbes magazine on what the top supermodels earn. Not surprisingly, Gisele Bundchen topped the list by making $45 million over the last 12 months, a jump of $20 M over the previous year.
Edward Razek, chief marketing officer of Limited Brands, explained why the Brazilian supermodel is worth the big bucks. “Gisele Bündchen is clearly in a class by herself, and has been for a number of years. She’s an international icon who can also move product—from shampoo to couture.”
Coming in a distant second was model/mogul Heidi Klum, who brought in $20 million through her work with Project Runway, New Balance and Amazon.com. The enduring Kate Moss came in third with $13.5 M, while Adriana Lima took fourth place with $8 M. Following was her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, who made $5 M. Next was Daria Werbowy with $4.5 M, and a newcomer to the list, Calvin Klein model Lara Stone, with $4.5M.
Rounding out the top ten were Carolyn Murphy ($4.3 M), Natalia Vodianova ($4 M) and the second newcomer to the list, Candice Swanepoel with $3 M. Conspicuously missing are Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes, both of whom took the year off to have babies, but should be back next year. Their careers may be short, but models are certainly well paid!
