London, March 27 (IANS) Actress Kate Hudson says she has learnt a lot about being a good parent from her own “unconventional” family.
The “Fool’s Gold” star, who has a seven-year-old son Ryder from her six-year marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson, was raised by her mother Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell, who parented her since she was three.
The complex nature of her own upbringing meant she didn’t feel so guilty about splitting from Ryder’s dad.
“The most important thing for Ryder’s life is love, happiness and honesty. I have the most unconventional family ever. My mom Goldie Hawn was married twice, and then she met my dad -Kurt who was married before,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.
“I’ve got a brother and half-brothers and sisters, and we all have the most wonderful relationships. My mom and dad are around a lot – we all live within seven blocks of each other. You can’t go wrong if you’re honest and your intention is to be happy.”
The 31-year-old actress is now expecting a baby with her new man, Muse rocker Matt Bellamy.
