‘Responsible’ TRS to vote for No Trust Motion

Hyderabad: Responding to the news that the Telugu Desam Party would introduce a No Confidence Motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government, Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender on Thursday said, “We will act responsibly and ensure that the Motion is passed.”

However, Mr Rajender’s words may not have give that much confidence to the Telugu Desam Party, especially after the fact that the TRS MLAs cross-voted during the elections to the Legislative Council earlier in the year.

In the numbers game, the TDP needs every single vote it can muster to put the government in a corner.

Talking to media persons at TRS Legislature Party Office, Mr Rajender stated that his party would extend full support to any party which introduces the No Trust Motion against the government.

He added that the TRS’ support stems from the fact that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government has lost the moral right to rule the state as it has failed on all fronts.

“We want the collapse of government and in this endeavour, we will support whoever introduces the No Confidence Motion. The people of the state do not want the anti-people government to continue in office,” Mr Rajender stated.

“The TRS will act responsibly this time and make efforts to get the No Trust Vote passed against the government,” he stated.

Earlier, he called upon students to play an active role in the Telangana agitation.

Reviewing the role of students in the Telangana agitation party leaders from Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts, Mr Rajender pointed out that the students had earlier played a vital role in the Telangana agitation. “Their continued support to the agitation must be ensure,” he is believed to have told the party cadre.

He said the agitation would be taken to every nook and corner of the region with the active involvement of students.

“Without the involvement of students, any agitation will not become a success,” Mr Rajender told the party leaders.

Reacting on the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram statement of convening all-party meeting soon, he said the meeting is only aimed to delay the announcement on Telangana.

The TRS leader added that Mr Chidambaram will convene the all-party meeting only to `pass the time.’

He said that the Telangana state agitation would be intensified if the Centre fails to announce statehood decision by June end.(INN)
