Hyderabad: Twelve distinguished personalities from different walks of life have been chosen for the “Kapuratna” title to be conferred by the Andhra Pradesh Telaga, Kaapu and Balija Association every year on the eve of Ugadi festival.
Awards will be presented at office premises, Lower tank Bund, here on April 4 at 4.30 pm. The Minister for Housing, Mr Kanna Laxmi Narayana will be the chief guest on the occasion, while the MLC, Mr C Ramchandraaih will be the guest of honour. The association president, MR Kotela Srihari will preside over the event, said the association general secretary, Mr P Vinayaka Swamy.
The 12 people who will be receiving the “Kapuratna” title are: Mr M H Rao (noted Kapu leader); Mr V V Narayana (well-known expert in Construction sector); Mr D V Ram Kumar (CEO, R P G Group, Kolkatta); Mr Reddy Nagabhushan Rao, IFS (Secretary to the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker); Dr P Anand (Managing Director, Anand Granites, Ongole); Dr Anishetti Padmavathi (eminent doctor); Mr P Vijay Babu (Editor, Andhra Prabha daily); Dr V Vasudeva Rao (chairman, V V R Housing Private Limited), Mr Potula Vishwam (chairman, Vishwam Educational Institutions); Mr Addala Krishna Rao (retired Chief Engineer), Mr Ravipati Aadhinasrayana (Horticulture expert) and Ms B Pratyusha (International Chess player).
