Hyderabad: The Congress MLA from Nellore Rural, Mr Anam Vivekananda Reddy, has felt that the deletion of 14(f) clause from 1975 Presidential Order was a victory of the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Reacting to the deletion of 14(f) clause at the Secretariat media point, Mr Vivekananda Reddy, who earlier opposed the repeal of the clause, said the deletion of 14(f) clause proves the Chief Minister’s capability and the party high command’s confidence in him. The credit for deletion of 14(f) clause goes to the Chief Minister, he said, adding that the Chief Minister had personally talked to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister over phone on the issue and persuaded them. He also reminded that the Telangana agitators did not believe the Chief Minister that the 14(f) clause would be deleted before SI recruitment test.
On the ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region against the deletion of 14(f) clause, the Congress MLA claimed that a coin would have two sides. The deletion of 14(f) clause made the people of one region happy and caused heart burning to the people of other regions. However, the 14(f) clause pertained to only police recruitments, he added.
