Hyderabad: The TDP legislator, Mr Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, here on Thursday alleged that some 20 ministers in the present cabinet were actively involved in the corrupt deals and irregularities which have taken place during the regime of late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Speaking at the Assembly Media Point here, Mr Uma Maheshwar Rao said that it was irrefutable fact that YSR government had become an epicenter for corruption and misuse of power in the country. The corrupt deals worth thousands of crores of rupees have taken place during YSR government in the State. The AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, also had her role in the corrupt deals, he alleged. The Kiran Kumar Reddy government was not coming forward to set up Joint Legislature Committee (JLC) on land allotments because it feels that facts about the land scam would come to light. The TDP would continue its agitation until constitution of JLC by the State government, he made it clear.

Coming down heavily against the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR), the TDP legislator took strong objection to Mr KCR terming the TDP as lifeless party. Actually, the TRS, which was a sub-regional party, was lifeless, he said and reminded that the TRS had pre-poll alliance with the TDP in 2009 elections. He also pointed out that out of 46 Assembly seats it got in seat-sharing, the TRS had won only 10 seats. He also asked as to why Mr KCR was staying in Hyderabad and leveling allegations against the TDP at a time when he actually fight for his goal in the Parliament. He strongly suspected that Mr KCR was targeting the TDP to divert the public attention on the Telangana issue.

He alleged that the Centre was enacting a drama with the Eighth chapter of Justice Sri Krishna Committee. He suspected that Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi hatched a conspiracy to split Telugu people and used the Union Minister, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, as a scapegoat in the matter.
