Hyderabad: The 245th birth anniversary of Classical music doyen, late Sri Tyagaraju (1767-1847) will be held at the Auditorium of Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, here on May 4 at 6 pm, under the auspices of “Telugu Ratham”, a literary, cultural and social development organisation.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, the organisation president, Mr Kompella Sharma, said that the Sangeetha Maha Mahopadhyaya, Mr Kollegal R Subrahmanyam, would be the chief guest on the occasion, while the Director of IICT, Dr J S Jadav, and a retired IAS officer, Dr J Bapu Reddy, would be the guests of honour. He also said that the event would be culminated into a “Carnatic Vocal Music concert” to be performed by Dr Tadepalli Lokanatha Sharma. He would be accompanied by a group comprising Mr Mangalampalli Suryadeepthi (Violin), Mr Peravali Jaya Bhaskar (Mridangam) and Mr Tadepalli Ramdas (Tambura).
Mr Sharma has appealed to every one to participate in the event and make it a grand success. (NSS)
