Hyderabad: A valedictory ceremony to mark the conclusion of the 28 Senior Officers’ Study Period (SOSP) was held at the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad today.
Air Marshal G S Kochar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air Command, IAF, presided over the function and awarded certificates to the course participants. Some 22 officers from the three services attended the programme, which focused on important dimensions of national security and current developments at the regional and global level.
The programme commenced from May 2 under the command of Air Vice Marshal D P Upot, Commandant, College of Air Warfare and Lt Gen A K Singh, General Officer Commanding in Chief, HQ Southern Command.
Eminent speakers from all walks of life ranging from senior serving and retired military officers, renowned economists, scientists, political analysts and media personalities were among those addressed the course participants during the fortnight. Lt Gen DS Chauhan, Director General, Defence Intelligence Agency and Air Marshal Daljit Singh, Director General (Air Operations), Air Headquarters and Mr G Parthasarathy IFS(Retd), former High Commissioner to Pakistan have also addressed the participants.
The SOSP is a special programme for senior officers of the three services conducted to provide them with a forum to discuss and exchange ideas on issues of national importance, regional and international issues, internal security, strategy & operational concepts as also to foster jointmanship. (NSS)
