Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): Samaikhya Bharathi, in association with Chaitanya Art Theatres will be organising State-level Drama Celebrations from February 8 to 10 at Ravindra Bharati, here.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, will be the chief guest at inaugural programme on February 8 at 6.15 pm. The Principal Secretary, Revenue (Endowments), Dr K V Ramana, will be presiding. The Director, State Cultural Department, Dr M Kantha Rao, will be distinguished guest on the occasion. The former director of Doordarshan Kendra, Dr P Madhsudana Rao, and Ashwini Group chairman, Mr B C H V Subba Rao, will be special guests.
Later, Saveri Cultural Association, Hyderabad will present a poetic drama “Lakuma Devi” authored by Mr Palleti Lakshmi Kulasekhar and directed by “Samaikhya Bharati” Satyanarayana, at 7.30 pm.
On February 9, the State Cultural Council chairman, Mr R V Ramanamurthy, will be the chief guest and the well-known drama writer, Dr Vijayabhaskar, will preside over the programme. The Hyderabad Doordarshan Kendra director, Ms Shailaja Suman, will be the distinguished guest while prominent Homeopathi practitioner, Dr K S S Prasad Reddy, will be special guest. At 6.15 pm, Sri Sai Karthik Creations of Kakinada will present a drama “Raayi” penned by Mr S M V Gopalaraju and directed by Mr Ch Yona. At 7.45 pm, the Vijayawada Samskrutika Samakhya will present a drama “Sampoornavakasam” penned and directed by Mr Sukhamanchi Koteswara Rao.
The valedictory programme will be held on February 10 at 8.15 pm where the Civil Supplies Minister, Mr D Sridhar Babu, will be the chief guest and Gnanpeeth awardee Padmabhushan Dr C Narayana Reddy, will be presiding. The Shanta Biotechnics Ltd managing director, Padmabhushan Dr K I Varaprasad Reddy, will be distinguished guest. The noted dramatist, Dr Chatla Sriramulu, will be special guest.
The Pallavi Arts, Proddatur will present epic drama “Bheeshma” written by Mr Palleti Lakshmi Kulasekhar and directed by Mr Vanganuri Gurappa Sagar. (NSS)
