7 Hour power cut in rural areas under NPDCL

Hyderabad: The Northern Power Distribution Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Krishna Murthy, has announced that there would be no power cuts for industries that have special lines of their own, unlike those industries that were dependent on power sub-stations in mandals and municipal corporations. Mr Murthy said that there would be a seven-hour power cut in rural areas.

Announcing the details of power cuts in Chittoor, Nellore, Guntur, Prakasam, Kadapa and Krishna districts that come under the NPDCL, he said that there would be a power cut from 6 am to 8 am in all mandal headquarters of these six districts. There would be power cut from 2 pm to 4 pm in Prakasam and Kadapa districts, from 12 am to 2 pm in Krishna and Chittoor districts, from 10 am to 12 am in the Municipal Corporations of Guntur and Nellore districts, he said.

Stating that they were unsure as of now as to when the state of electricity would get better in the State, Mr Krishna Murthy said that power supply would be provided for five hours in day time and two hours during the night time in all districts for agricultural purposes. (NSS)
