Hyderabad: In all, 9,867 students have appeared for eligibility test for admissions into Ramaiah IIT Coaching Centre.
The eminent educationalist, Mr Chukka Ramaiah of Ramaiah Vidhya Peetham, in a press release here, stated that this time not only students from northern States like Delhi, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, but also southern States like Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have attended the exanimation. The Dalit and minority students from towns, cities and rural areas also took part in the examination, he added. The interesting factors of this year’s examination were that the students from north have appeared for the test for the first time and more than half of the total attendees were girls, he added. The students from northern States appeared for the test to get knowledge as how to prepare for what subject. He said that the students believe that their future would depend on getting admission into the colleges based on quality of education and reputation. Earlier, the students had interest only in engineering courses, but now they were in favor of joining new courses, he opined.
The eligibility test was conducted on Friday from 9 am to 12.15 pm at the centers of Engineering College, Technology College, Centre for Distance Education in Osmania University Campus, Railway Degree College, Tarnaka, Ideal Junior and Degree College, Dilsukhnagar and Krishnaveni Talent School, Kothapet. Based on the marks secured in the test, admissions would be provided to the students in the Ramaiagh IIT Coaching Centre, he added. (NSS)
