Hyderabad, Feb.8 (NSS): A three-day “AADHAR awareness competitions” for the schoolchildren of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, jointly organised by the Jawahar Bal Bhavan and the AADHAR concluded at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School, King Koti, here, on Tuesday.
“With an intention to create awareness about the AADHAR among the schoolchildren, the Jawahar Bal Bhavan and the AADHAR came together and conducted essay writing, elocution and painting competitions on February 5, 6 and 7 respectively. More than 800 children have taken part in the event”, said the Public Relation Officer, the Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Mr Anand.
The event ended with presentation of awards to 42 children, with 12 winners each in essay writing, elocution and painting competitions on the concluding day at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Ms Malathi Bhaskar, wife of the Deputy Director General, UIDAI, Mr V S Bhaskar, presented prizes to the winners. Besides, participation certificates were awarded to the participants in the three-day competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Ms Chandana Khan, Principal Secretary, State Primary Education Department, congratulated the children for having taken part in the competitions. She advised them not to abandon cultural activities for the sake of studies, since they could unleash the inherent curiosity among them. She also expressed the hope that the three-day event could create awareness among them about the AADHAR.
Meanwhile, the additional directors general of the UIDAI, Mr P S N Murthy and Ms Padmaja, held a power point presentation on the AADHAR and its significance. (NSS)
