ACB unearths disproportionate assets

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted raids on the residences of many officials in Hyderabad City on Wednesday, on the suspicion that they have earned assets disproportionate to their income.

According to ACB sources, the sleuths have found Rs.5 crore worth illegal assets at Transco AD Mr Chitharanjan Das’s house here at Himayath Nagar. Mr Das had two plots and five open plots in Hyderabad and seven acres land at Mahabubnagar. They also found that Mr Das has invested Rs.25 lakh in Gangothri Real Estate and Rs.10 lakh worth documents. They also found Rs.10.75 lakh net cash in the house. The ACB officials conducted raids dividing as three teams. The sleuths were also raiding the houses of close friends and relatives of Mr Das.

The ACB officials also conducted raids on the house of forest check post official, Adilabad district, Mr Javed Ali, who was living in Hyderabad and attends duties by going from here. The officials identified that Mr Ali too have more than Rs.5 crore worth illegal assets. The officials were raiding Mr Ali’s assets at Laxettipet, Hyderabad and Karim Nagar at a time by dividing themselves into four teams. (NSS)
