Hyderabad: The senior BJP leader and former Union minister, Mr Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, on Sunday observed that acceptance of deputy chief minister post was a great insult to the people of Telangana region.
Speaking to mediapersons while participating in the party sponsored “Vanta-Varpu” (cooking food on roads) here, Mr Rao said that the Seemandhra leaders, who had trampled upon the Gentlemen’s Agreement signed during the formation of Andhra Pradesh have given deputy chief minister post to a Telangana legislator only with an intention to put cold water on the agitation for demerger of Telangana from Andhra region.
Mr Rao said that the people of the region were hating Mr Lagadapati for his provocative remarks against Telangana. He also exuded confidence that the “Vanta-Varpu” programme would contribute to formation of separate Telangana State.
