Hyderabad: The state Assembly has witnessed acrimonious scenes even on the last day of the Budget Session and the Deputy Speaker Mr. Nadendla Manohar had to adjourn the House soon after it began its sitting on Tuesday morning.

Members of the TDP, and Congress MLAs supporting Mr.Y S Jaganmohan Reddy displayed placards and raised slogans against each other throwing the house into disorder. The Deputy Speaker’s repeated requests to the members to resume their seats and permit the house to take up the listed business were unheeded to. He told them to shun the practice of displaying placards as it was not permitted under the rules.

Soon after the House assembled for the day, the Deputy Speaker has announced that all the Adjournment Motions given notice of by members were disallowed. While the opposition TDP insisted on the appointment of a House Committee on land allocations during the late Rajasekhara Reddy’s

regime, and Jagan’s properties, Jagan group members shouted slogans about the alleged corruption of the opposition leader and former Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu. An angry Naidu retorted by saying that he was ready for any enquiry.

TDP members in the mean time displayed placards and raised slogans about Jaganmohan Reddy’s properties. With this, MLAs supporting Jagan had raised slogans against the TDP chief and tension mounted. Members of both sides disregarded the repeated requests of the Deputy Speaker to

permit the House to function normally. Exasperated by the behaviour of the members, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the House for half-an-hour. (NSS)
