Hyderabad: Sri Jain Seva Sangh is conducting “Ahimsa Shanti Yatra” here on May 22 against illegal demolition of Goshala at Visakhapatnam and illegal detention of Jain monks in Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Jain Acharya Sri Vijay Abhaysensurishwarji Maharaj of Sri Jain Seva Sangh regretted that the Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam had illegally demolished Vijaya Radha Krishna Goshala and disobeyed the court order given in favor of the Goshala. As some 40 cows and calves were lying on the road, one cow died and several animals injured. The act of Visakhapatnam Municipal Commissioner was barbaric and colluded with the local TDP MLA and resorted to the action to clear the way for him to grab the land, he alleged.
He termed the issuance of licenses by Uttar Pradesh government to set up eight modern slaughter houses in that State as inhuman act. The UP government also arrested the Jain monk Muni Shri Maitriprabhasagarji, who was on fast unto death against it. He also said that they would take out “Ahimsa Shanti Yatra” on Sunday against the two-barbaric actions. The rally would start at Jain Mandir, Sultan Bazaar at 8.30 am and ends at Guru Ganesh Bhavan by passing via Andhra bank, Gandhi Gyan Mandir, Old Royal Talkies and Kandaswamy Lane. The procession was in accordance with the ongoining protests carried out at different places in Mumbai and New Delhi, he added. He appealed to the people of Hyderabad to participate in the rally and make it a grand success. (NSS)
