Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Mr A K Khan, has said that the MIM MLA, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, had a weapon in his hand at the time of the recent attack on him.
Talking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Mr Khan said that whether Mr Akbaruddin used his weapon or not would be known in the final report on the incident.
The Police Commissioner said that while there were 6,167 weapons in the city, 4,890 were licensed. Stating that the licences of 2,591 weapons were examined by the police, Mr Khan said that there was doubt about the licences of 472 weapons.
The City Police chief said that there were 1,060 rowdy sheeters in the city and added that proposals for opening 680 more rowdy sheets were received. He said that six rowdy-sheeters were ex-communicated from Hyderabad and there were possibilities of banishing 12 more. (NSS)
