Hyderabad: The condition of the MIM legislator, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was recuperating in the Care Hospital remained stable on Monday and was under ventilator and dialysis.

The Care Hospital authorities have said that Mr Owaisi, who survived a murder attempt on his life on Saturday, is out of danger. His condition has improved and remained stable, the doctors attending on him said.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed at the hospital as hundreds of Mr Owaisi’s supporters and followers gathered to enquire about the condition of their leader. The police had a tough time in controlling the surging mob. The security in and around the hospital has been beefed up.

The City Police Commissioner, Mr A. K. Khan, said that the CCS sleuths and Task Force personnel were working together to pinpoint the assailants, who had opened fire and inflicted knife injuries on Mr. Owaisi. The investigating officials suspect that some 10 to 11 persons had taken part in the pre-planned attack. The weapons used by the assailants were also identified. Investigations are on to ascertain the motive behind the attack – whether it was due to land grabbing of government lands or personal animosity, the police chief informed.

The Police Commissioner exuded confidence that the entire picture surrounding the murderous attack on the MIM leader would become clear in a day or two when all details would be made public.
