Hyderabad: MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi clarified that he never spoke of taking revenge or settling scores with Mohammad Pahelwan, the main accused in his assassination bid case.
Talking to media after meeting the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at Secretariat here on Tuesday, the MIM leader said he was misquoted by the media with regard to his statement about the attackers. He said just trying to pacify his supporters and followers and wipe off their tears that they shed following attack on his life on April 30th.
When asked about the GHMC’s proposed action against the unauthorized construction of the function hall at Chandrayangutta owned by Mohammad Pahelwan, the main accused in his attempt to murder case, Akbaruddin Owaisi denied of having any knowledge about it. “I don’t know, you ask the government,” he said.
During his meeting, Akbaruddin brought to the notice of the chief minister various problems being faced by the minority population in the state and sought assurances from the latter for redressing their grievances. He said study circles for minorities’ students will commence in the entire state apart from one at the Haj House at Shamshabad, for which land has already been allotted by the government.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was accompanied by MIM legislators Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Virasat Rasool Khan, Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Afsar Khan and Mouzam Khan.
The Chief Minister has assured to implement the 15-point welfare programme for the minorities at the behest of Owaisi. Among others demands, Owaisi sought clean chit certificates for all 76 youth those who were wrongly arrested in the Mecca Masjid blast case. These youth were deliberately implicated in the case by the police and certificates were essential to prove their innocence, he said. As per the recommendations made by the NHRC and NMC, compensation must be paid to the affected and innocent youth, who were implicated by the police. (INN)
