Hyderabad: Reiterating his demand for Joint Legislature Committee on land allotment in the name of SEZs and Industries in the State, the AIMIM floor leader, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, said in the Assembly that the JLC or House Committee would only serve the purpose.

Speaking in the Assembly on the demand for appointment of JLC or House Committee on land allotments, Mr Owaisi alleged that the functioning of the present government looked like the then Congress government at the Centre when the historic Babri Masjid was demolished in Ayodhya. He said that the then government had allotted Wakf land to the Shamshabad International Airport. The then government had assured that it would reconstruct a Masjid that was demolished for construction of the runway in the Shamshabad Airport, but failed to fulfill the promise till date, he added.

Asking the government how to believe the credentials of the government, Mr Owaisi said that he has no faith in the Congress government and hence his party was demanding JLC. He also asked the government as to why it was scared of setting up JLC or House Committee if it did not commit any mistake. (NSS)
