Hyderabad: Five persons, who were accused in the shootout and attack on the MIM MLA, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, surrendered before the Task Force police here on Monday.
Giving this information at a media conference here on Monday, the City police commissioner, Mr A K Khan, has said that 14 persons have physically taken part in the attack on the MLA. He said that he would divulge the details later in the evening or on Tuesday. He said that investigation in the case was progressing and some of the accused have already been taken into custody. He said that he would give the media all the details of the investigation shortly. He also said that the condition of Mr Akbaruddin was improving and there was no need for any anxiety.
Meanwhile, doctors of the Care Hospital said that the condition of the MLA was stable. In the bulletin released on Monday, they said that the functioning of his organs had improved. They said that his overall condition was better than what it was on Sunday. Though dialysis was continuing, the BP and pulse rate have improved, the doctors added.
Police have posted men of the Rapid Action Force at the Care Hospital in view of the supporters of MIM thronging there in large numbers. Barricades were also set up there. Three wheelers were not being permitted to pass the way. Tensioned prevailed at the hospital. (NSS)
