Hyderabad: The former union minister, Mr. Ale Narendra, former minister, Mr. Machineni Kishan Rao, former MLAs, Mr. Vasu Reddy and Mr. Manda Satyanarayana have returned to the fold of the Bharateeya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, in the presence of party state president, Mr. G Kishan Reddy.
Some TRS and PRP leaders from Karimnagar and Medak districts have also joined the BJP along with them, at a programme in the party’s state office here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narendera recalled his association with the party since 1967 and said he had left the party on the Telanagna Statehood issue. He has made it clear that he never differed with the ideology of BJP, but left the party as it had not made its stand on Telangana state formation clear at the time. He said he had founded Telangana Sadhana Samithi for achieving Telangana and had later merged it in TRS on the request of Mr. K Chandrasekhara Rao.
“Unfortunately, Chandrasekhara Rao leveled false allegations against me and I left TRS with immense pain. Later it, I moved close to the Congress party for two years and have come to an understanding that the party is not sincere on the issue of Telnagana Statehood. Hence, I have decided to re-join the BJP and I am confident that the party would certainly achieve Telangana” he said.
Mr. Narendra has stated that he was joining the BJP to serve the party with desire for any post at his advanced age. He has assured that he would work for cause of Telangana and strengthening the BJP in the State.
Mr. Kishan Reddy said that the people were vexed with the corrupt practices of UPA Government at centre and the poor administration of the Congress government in the state. He has strongly criticized the ‘two-eyes’ theory of the TDP Chief, Mr Nara Chandrababu on Telangana Statehood. He has alleged that the Congress was also not in a position to take a clear stand on the formation of separate Telangana state. The Telangana state would be carved out through BJP, whose stand was crystal clear on the issue, he maintained.
Welcoming the Mr. Narendra and others into the BJP, he said that the BJP was getting strength in village level and would soon emerge as a force in the state. He has called up on the pro-Telangana leaders to join the BJPto achieve separate Telangana state.
The BJP leaders, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya, Dr. K Laxman, Mr. N Ramachandar Rao, Mr. Venkat Reddy and Mr. Rajeshwar were among those who have attended the programme.
