Hyderabad: The Jana Chaitanya Vedika is organising padayatra on March 13 for “Amajeevulaku Kshamapanalu—Shraddhanjali”, on the Tank Bund in protest against the felling of statues of Telugu iconic people on March 10 as part of the “Million March”.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, the Vedika president, Mr V Laxmana Reddy, appealed to all to take part in the proposed padayatra and make it a grand success.
Mr Reddy said that March 10 would go down as a “black day” in the annals of the Telugu history. He also lamented that the insult caused to the iconic Telugu people by way of vandalizing their statues had deeply pained the people of the State.
The convenor of the Forum against Corruption and Terrorism, Mr B K Reddy, the former MLA, Mr Katragadda Prasuna, the director of APSA, Mr S Srinivas Reddy and Mr T Laxmi Narayana, were also present. (NSS)
