Hyderabad: The State Finance Minister Mr Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said that the real tribute to Dr YSR was electing the Congress candidates in Kadapa by-elections.
Speaking to the media at Council premises here on Friday, Mr Ramanarayana Reddy said that there was a feeling in the people of Kadapa that they wanted to cast their vote only to ‘Hand’ symbol. He said that it was not possible to compete with the YSR Congress Party Chief Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in distribution of money to the voters as he got the name as the richest politician in the country. He said that it was not easy to Mr Jagan to break the Congress vote bank even though he was trying to influence the voters by all means.
Deploying the ministers and MLAs was not a new phenomena, he said and added that in 1999, Dr Rajashekar Reddy deployed 47 MLAs for single Badwel by-election. Exuding confidence that the Congress candidates would emerge as winners, he said that the credit goes equally to the Chief Minister and the high command. (NSS)
