APSRTC to issue “Vanita Family Cards” from today

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is launching Vanita Family Cards on June 15. The cards will enable buyers to travel by RTC buses enjoying concession tariff. All white ration card holders are eligible for these cards, which can be obtained by paying Rs. 100 per card.

In a statement APSRTC, HRD & Medical wing official, said that add-on cards will be issued in the name of women of Vanita Family Card only. Other family members names will be mentioned in the card and it will be valid for travel in Pallevelugu and Express services only. The card’s validity is two years.

The official said that 10 per cent concession would be extended to the family members either to travel individually or in group in all Pallevelugu and Express buses. Compensation is payable to the extent of Rs. 1 lakh per member for loss of life while traveling in RTC buses.
