Hyderabad: Condemning the remarks of the Malkajgiri MP, Mr Sarve Satyanarayana, against the senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member, Dr K Keshav Rao and himself, the Handlooms and Textiles Minister, Dr P. Shankar Rao, has asked the former whether he was eligible for Union minister post.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Friday, Dr Shankar Rao said that many senior leaders, who were working for the growth of the party for decades, were also not getting berths in the Union ministry. Mr Satyanarayana, who claimed that he had won election in general quota was demanding Union minister post on the basis of Sub-Caste, he quipped. It was not justified for Mr Satyanarayana to demand a minister’s post under sub-caste quota, being an educated person, he added.
Disclosing that he had received Lok Ayukta notices, Dr Shankar Rao said he was ready to face an inquiry by any powerful agency which has full powers like the Karnataka Lok Ayukta. He said that he visited Sri Vinayaka temple, Ammavari temple and Catholic Church of India located in his constituency and prayed for speed recovery of the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi. He appreciated the services of Dr Nori Dattratreyudu, who performed a surgery on Ms Sonia Gandhi.
Stating that there was no mistake in appointing a four-member team to look after the party affairs, he said that Mr A K Anthony, Mr Ahmed Patel, Mr Janardhan Trivedi and Mr Rahul Gandhi would not look into the political affairs and they would only look after the party affairs in the absence of Ms Sonia Gandhi.
