Aruna inaugurates Rythu Chaitanya Yatra

Hyderabad: The Minister for Information and Public Relations, Ms D.K. Aruna, has said that the “Rythu Chaitnaya Yatralu” could be benefited to farmers during next Kharif season and farmers could know new scientific technical methods through this.

The Minister was speaking after launching Rythu Chaitnaya Yatras at Jadcherla Badepally Agriculture Market yard on Tuesday in Mahbubnagar district. The Minister garlanded portrait of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. She also flagged off a Rythu Chaitnya yatra vehicle on the occasion.

The Minister said that since a few years Rythu Chaitanya yatras were being conducted for the benefit of farmers and every year farmers were getting bumper produce at less expenditure. She directed the Agriculture and allied department officers to visit every village and organize awareness programmes regarding new scientific techniques in farm sector.

Referring to procurement of paddy, Ms Aruna said that a total of 12 lakh gunny bags were required in the district for three lakh tons expected paddy of which 4.5 lakh bags were received and remaining 7.50 lakh bags will to be received. Efforts were being made to supply adequate bags wherever necessary in the district in this regard.

She also said that paddy was being purchased from five FCI centers and 50 IKP centers in the district. She said that the government would give separate orders to extend loan facility to tenant farmers. She said that the government was introducing novel schemes exclusively for the benefit of farmers.

Presiding over the meeting, the district Collector, Mr M.Purushotham Reddy, said that the Agriculture officers and officers of allied departments should visit villages and create awareness regarding exchange of crops, suitability of soil, crops and so on. He also said that during last year, 90 per cent of crop loans were extended to farmers. He requested the farmer to repay loans to banks so that the banks would extend fresh loans. He also advised the farmers to form farmers groups like women self help groups for obtaining bank loans.

The Jadcherla MLA, Mr Chandrasekhar, the MLC, Mr Jagadeeshwar Reddy, the Jadcherla former MLA, Dr Mallu Ravi, the JD of Agriculture, Mr Vinaychand, the Animal Husbandry JD, Mr Ramchandraiah, the Horticulture AD, Ms Sangeetha laxmi, the APMIP PD, and other were participated. (NSS)
