Hyderabad: The Opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Mr Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, has condemned the attack on MIM MLAs in the State capital in broad day light when they were on padayatra.
The former minister questioned if the government had no responsibility to provide security to MLAs who were on a padayatra on public roads. He has alleged that the negligence of the government in taking notice of the clashes which have been occurring in the old city since the last one week was responsible for Saturday’s attack on the MLAs. He said the government had totally failed in protecting law and order in the State.
He also referred to the murder of Maddela Cheruvu Suri in the State capital, destruction of statues on the Tank bund and today’s attack on MLAs on Saturday and said all these indicated how government had failed to contain unsocial elements. He has expressed anxiety over increasing rapes of women, acid attacks and kidnap of children in the State. He hoped that the injured MLAs would recover soon. (NSS)
