Hyderabad: Ending the stalemate surrounding the resignations of over 100 Telangana legislators and politicians, the AICC general secretary, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, has invited a team of Telangana Cong-ress leaders to Delhi for talks.
Mr Azad called the panchayati raj minister, Mr K. Jana Reddy and the MP, Dr K. Kesava Rao, on Sunday evening and invited a delegation to Delhi for talks. The BC welfare minister, Mr Basavaraju Sariah, confirmed Mr Azad’s invitation. “We have not decided yet who should be part of the delegation, or even whether to go or not, what issues will be discussed etc. We will take a decision on Mon-day,” he told this correspondent.
The Telangana Congress leaders are not very enthusiastic about the Delhi invite. “After we submitted our resignations on July 4, the same day we all went to Delhi and were there for three days, had discussions with all concerned leaders, but there was no decision then.
If we go there without putting any conditions, what is the use?” said a minister. Another MP from the group said that instead of them rushing to Delhi “as if we are craving for their intervention, we may request Mr Azad to depute some senior leader from Delhi to talk to us on specific issues.
It would be nice if our talks were confined to Telangana-state formation. The Pradesh Congress Chief, Mr Botsa Satyana-rayana, will be leaving for Delhi on Monday night. Deccan Chronicle
