After the fire accident in an AC coach of Bangalore-Nanded Express train that killed 26 people at Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, Forensic experts team began its investigation by collecting evidence from the BI AC coach.
An expert team consisting of 13-member from the AP Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) started examining and collecting samples from the AC coach to ascertain the cause of the fire, according to Ananatapur police.
Out of 26 people burnt alive, including two children, as many as 20 bodies were identified and eight of them have been handed over to their family members, according to railway officials.
“We request the families of the deceased to come forward for identifying the bodies charred in the fire accident and the bodies kept at Victoria government hospital in Bangalore,” the officials said.
The unidentified bodies have been sent for DNA test, the officials added.
Based on preliminary reports, Police had earlier said that the cause of the fire may be a short-circuit near the air-conditioning unit.
